Do low carb diets work? |
|---|---|
| How many carbs should you eat a day to steadily lose weight? I have done atkins before but I wanted to try another diet with a little more carbs. Any suggestions?

| I did atkin's (or my own version, I should say) to great success. If you want more carbs, just stay away from really starchy foods and sugar. That should be all right if you like a little bread now and then. |

| They work, but as soon as you are off of it, the weight comes back plus another 10 lbs or so.
My brother inlaw lost 80 then gained 100 back after he got off of the low carb band wagon. The best way to lose weight would be to cut your calorie intake to around 1200 calories of good food a day and to exercize for an hour or so, say taking a walk or going to the gym. This is the best way to lose weight and keep it off. Good luck! |

| Hello! Low carb diets can work, but the weight lost is usually water and muscle. The body needs carbs to function properly, especially if you are exercising intensely on a regular basis. As soon as the diet is over, you will gain the weight back, and then some. Body fat is usually never lost (its sometimes gained) on a diet like this. Focus on changing your lifestyle permanently if you want lifelong results. Eat balanced, healthy meals, and get moving on a daily basis. |
